(Anaheim) The Anaheim Ducks announced Wednesday that they have granted right wing Troy Terry a seven-year contract extension.

The deal will expire at the end of the 2029-30 season, team officials said in a press release. The club did not specify the financial details of the deal, but according to sources, the contract will net Terry a total sum of US$49 million.

The 25-year-old Terry, an American from Colorado, had 176 points, including 75 goals, in 274 NHL games, all with the Ducks. In 2022-23, he had 23 goals and 61 points in 70 games.

It was his second consecutive campaign with at least 20 goals and 60 points. His 38 assists last year is a personal career high.

Claimed by the Ducks in the fifth round—148th overall—in the 2015 draft, Terry set personal bests in a single season in goals (37), points (67), power-play goals ( eight), goalscoring wins (seven) and games played (75) in 2021-22. He had also finished this season in first place among the Ducks for the number of goals and points.

With his 37 goals in 2021-22, he holds the team record for the most goals in a season by a player claimed beyond the first round.

Terry also became the fifth player in organization history to score at least 35 goals in a single season, following Teemu Selanne (five times), Paul Kariya (four times), Corey Perry (three times) and Bobby Ryan (once), and the first since Perry in 2013-14.

During that same campaign, Terry had a 16-game point streak, the third longest in Ducks history, between Oct. 18 and Nov. 18.
