After selling all the tickets for its June 16 show at the Bell Centre, The Cure announced on Wednesday that Montreal will be entitled to not one, but two performances of its next North American tour, Shows Of A Lost World.

This is the first time that the English band has offered the city two dates of the same tour. Music lovers who have already registered as a Verified Fan will be able to access tickets for the June 17 concert on sale on April 7, before it opens to the general public the following day.

On March 13, the band’s frontman, Robert Smith, ranted in all caps on Twitter and castigated the inexplicable reservation rates imposed by Ticketmaster. The ticketing giant issued refunds of up to ten dollars in the following days. Thank you Mr Smith.

The Cure had immediately announced that the sale of its shows would not be subject, at its request, to dynamic pricing, a controversial practice contributing to inflating ticket prices. The group also demanded that measures be deployed to stem resale on secondary markets.
