(Ottawa) Decathlete Pierce LePage, hammer thrower Camryn Rogers and sprinters Andre De Grasse, Aaron Brown, Jerome Blake and Brendon Rodney headline Team Canada for the world athletics championships.

Athletics Canada has named its team of 50 athletes to compete August 19-27 in Budapest.

At the 2022 Worlds in Eugene, Oregon, Canada finished seventh with four medals (one gold, two silver, one bronze).

Brown, Blake, Rodney and De Grasse triumphed in the men’s 4×100 meters relay.

LePage and Rogers took silver, while Marco Arop took bronze in the 800 metres.

“I hope to continue at the current pace and do even better than last year,” Rogers said. Last year, it was both incredible and a privilege to be on the podium. I can’t wait to get back out there, show everything I’ve done this year and give it my all when it matters most. ยป
