The weather in June is particularly capricious. Indeed, for several weeks, the French territory has oscillated between rising temperatures and stormy showers. If the situation seemed to improve the previous days, the weekend of June 17 promises to be rainy. Discover in our slideshow below the departments that will be affected by the bad weather.

Météo-France and La Chaîne Météo agree that the heat will still be present this weekend. Nevertheless, “a new stormy deterioration is expected by the west from Sunday, and promises to be virulent”, specifies Cyrille Duchesne, meteorologist for La Chaîne Météo. This is explained by the depression located off the Bay of Biscay which is approaching slowly. These forecasts also announce thunderstorm warnings for the weekend.

“Saturday, it will be mostly sunny and above all hot”, specifies the editorial staff of La Chaîne Météo. Nevertheless, the sky will already begin to charge in many departments. Indeed, the stormy showers should declare themselves from the beginning of the afternoon in 47 departments. They will continue on Saturday evening before intensifying on Sunday. The weather will be heavy with temperatures between 28 and 32°C.

For Sunday, “the situation will be degraded from the morning on the west with the arrival of a marked stormy wave”, informs Cyrille Duchesne. The thunderstorms could progress as the day progresses and shift to the western half of the country. “This development promises to be violent during the afternoon and evening from the south-west to the north-east”, concludes the editorial staff of La Chaîne Météo. Nevertheless, temperatures will remain high with an average temperature of 30°C. Will you be affected by thunderstorms? Check out our slideshow below to find out.
