This Sunday, June 18, 2023, 44 departments are affected by at least one order limiting the use of water. 21 others are in a state of “vigilance”, according to the government site Propluvia. According to calculations by franceinfo and data from the Bureau of Geological and Mining Research, as of June 13, 72.1% of groundwater tables have a level below normal. One of the worst situations in the last five years. Given the significant risk of drought, the prefects take water restriction measures according to their department.
