Julie Ringuette and Sharon James join the cast of the musical Waitress. With Marie-Ève Janvier, they will play the trio of waitresses featured in this first French-language version of the Broadway hit.

“It’s a dream come true for me to be part of the cast of a major musical! I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time,” said host and actress Julie Ringuette, in a press release.

The one who has already taken the stage for the shows Review and Correction and Ladies Night will play alongside multidisciplinary artist Sharon James, who can be seen in the musicals Mamma Mia!, Rock of Ages and The Bodyguard.

Inspired by the film of the same name directed by Adrienne Shelly in 2007, the show tells the story of Jenna, a waitress stuck in a small town who, encouraged by her colleagues, will make an old dream come true by participating in a baking competition.

The rest of the cast will be revealed over the winter.

Waitress will be on view in Montreal, at Espace St-Denis, from June 22, 2024, then at Salle Albert-Rousseau, in Quebec, from August 10, 2024.
