(New York) American Reilly Opelka and Chinese Shuai Zhang have withdrawn from the US Open, the last major tournament of the year.

The USTA made the announcement on Tuesday, announcing that Argentinian Juan Manuel Cerundolo and American Caroline Dolehide will replace them in the main draw.

Opelka will miss the US Open for the second year in a row. His best result at a major tournament was at the latter, at Flushing Meadows, when he reached the fourth round in 2021.

He has not played on the ATP Tour since August 2022, in Washington, due to injuries, including to the hip.

Opelka turns 26 on August 28, the first day of main draw action at the tournament.

In singles, Zhang reached the quarter-finals twice in major tournaments. In doubles, she won top honors twice.

His best singles result in New York was making it to the fourth round last year.

Nick Kyrgios and Pablo Carreño Busta have already announced that they will not participate in the American stage of the Grand Slam.
