(Washington) Inflation started to accelerate again in July in the United States, to 3.3% year on year from 3.0% in June, and is stable on the month at 0.2%, according to the PCE index published Thursday, a measure favored by the American central bank (Fed), which it wants to reduce to 2.0%.

In addition, household spending accelerated (0.8% against 0.6% the previous month), while their income increased less (0.2% against 0.3%). PCE inflation follows the same pattern as another measure, the CPI, released earlier in the month and which came in at 3.2% year on year in July, down from 3.0% in June.
