A late spring that looks like summer. The heat arrived in France on Wednesday June 7 and it will last for the rest of the week. Temperatures will still be above normal for the season this Thursday, June 8, according to Météo France forecasts, since they will reach 30°C to 31°C in a large part of the country. For its part, The Weather Channel specifies that the heat will spread to the whole country, gradually, before the return of the storms during the weekend.

Please note, this is not a heat wave, but only an episode, during which “at the hottest, Thursday and Friday, it will be nearly 30°C over two thirds of the territory, with peaks at 32 – 33°C”. The temperatures will continue to drop during the night, which means that there will not be that tropical effect that can be found during heat waves. Friday, then Saturday, the feeling will be heavy in France, since the thermometer will not drop below 17°C, to rise to 27°C. Here are the temperatures expected this weekend:

As often, this episode of heat will be followed by thunderstorms, which will break out this weekend in a large part of the country and which could be violent in places. The Weather Channel already warns that “the humidity and heat will sometimes be difficult to bear, with temperatures sometimes felt close to 35°C”. Temperatures will drop a notch with the arrival of thunderstorms. In these 20 departments, the thermometer will exceed 30°C this Thursday, June 8.
