Several months after its world debut, Hyundai introduced its North American-primed Sonata. In addition to a major styling overhaul, the midsize sedan also gains all-wheel drive, which could make it more desirable for a buyer tempted by an SUV.

Essentially, the redesign of the bodywork focuses on the front which receives a long horizontal strip which acts as daytime running lights. It is completed by lighting integrated into the front bumper. The cabin is not to be outdone with a large rectangular screen which houses both the instrumentation and the multimedia system.

The most important change, however, is observable in its foundations. It features all-wheel drive coupled to the standard mechanics, a 2.5L four-cylinder. It therefore models its cousin, the Kia K5, which is offered with all-wheel drive on certain liveries. Four-cylinder 2.5L turbocharged and 2L hybrid complete the portrait which has not been detailed on the technical level. On sale next winter.
