(Montreal) Forwards Joel Armia and Alex Newhook, as well as defender Gustav Lindstrom, are bothered by upper body injuries, and as a result their state of health will be re-evaluated on a daily basis, the Montreal Canadiens announced Monday.

The three players will therefore not be in the lineup for the preparatory match which will take place in the evening against the Maple Leafs in Toronto.

Armia had a disappointing season in 2022-23, with seven goals and seven assists in 43 games, in addition to posting a minus-7 differential.

For his part, Newhook, who was acquired from the Colorado Avalanche on June 27, has taken part in a few preseason games with his new team so far.

This was also the case for Lindstrom, obtained from the Detroit Red Wings on August 15 in exchange for veteran Jeff Petry.

The Habs have a record of one victory and three defeats so far in preparatory matches.

After their duel against the Leafs, the men of head coach Martin St-Louis will complete their preparatory schedule on Saturday against the Senators in Ottawa, before starting their regular season next Wednesday against the Maple Leafs in Toronto.
