General knowledge, or more commonly known as “G culture”, is the body of general knowledge about literature, history, philosophy, science and the arts. “It is taught from an early age in school, but can also be acquired through personal curiosity and experience. General culture is opposed to disciplinary knowledge and is part of the humanist project”, as we explains linternaute.fr.

For the tenth anniversary of the general culture magazine, “the elephant”, Ifop conducted a study it had commissioned from it. The quarterly review, launched by Jean-Paul Arif, therefore published its content in mid-January. The study was conducted among the French, and shows that they are less and less sure of themselves when it comes to questions of general culture. Is this your case? Test your knowledge now in our quiz available below.
