Inflation, war in Ukraine, tense social climate… All these factors have had a direct impact on the daily lives of the French. From a stock market perspective, these phenomena have not been without consequences either. On September 29, 2022, the CAC 40 had thus experienced a sharp decline, falling to 5,676 points.

However, since the beginning of 2023, the figures are again encouraging and the index has seen further increases. Towards the end of the year, a sharp rise had thus been recorded, but the question then was whether this was temporary or would last over time. So far, while the Paris index has seen a slowdown in March, the numbers seem to be picking up.

This is notably due to the fall in the rate of inflation in March. If this is welcome, we must still remain suspicious because, as Capital reports, the ECB’s fight against rising prices is not yet over. Thus, the latter should choose to increase its interest rates and it is therefore preferable to remain wary.

For the time being, the CAC 40 seems to continue to do well but, to anticipate the future, it is important to closely follow the evolution of the decisions of the central bank, the behavior of inflation but also the health of the banks. , weakened after the bankruptcy of the Silicon Valley Bank in the United States.

In 2023, some sectors could however do well, such as luxury and tourism, after the reopening of the Chinese borders a few months ago.
