During her upcoming concerts in Florida, singer P!nk will distribute 2,000 copies of books banned from schools.

“Books have given me a special joy since my childhood, and that’s why I don’t want to stand idly by while books are banned in schools,” the artist said in a statement.

During its upcoming concerts in Florida, P!nk will distribute 2,000 copies of four books banned in several schools in the state: The Family Book by Todd Parr, The Hill We Climb by Amanda Gorman, Beloved by Toni Morrison and a book from the Girls Who Code foundation, founded by Reshma Saujani.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has relaxed certain laws allowing the banning of many works related to race or sexual orientation in schools and libraries. A book by author Élise Gravel, Le rose, le bleu et toi, on gender stereotypes, was also removed from the shelves.
