The absurd to the power of two, or rather to the infinite power, while alongside Gaétan Nonchalant we find none other than the master of the genre, Philippe Katerine, for this piece which recalls the importance of centering one’s energies on the beautiful moments of life. Just for this collaboration, this piece is worth listening to. But we add that the song, well, it’s wonderfully good! The bass line and the vaporous simplicity of the synthesizers perfectly accompany the words dictated by these two artists who seek here – as always – zenitude.
Pomplamoose, formed by the duo Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn, from time to time leaves the field of independent rock for that of ambient pop from the 1960s. This is the case here, with this piece drenched in French pop sauce. An airy synthesizer, trumpet tunes and, above all, the presence of pianist Larry Golding on the organ constitute the musical offering, while Dawn sings in French, always without an accent. Perfect end of summer piece, to listen to at sunset.
A few looped notes from a demo became a seven-minute instrumental piece. Happy mix of a synthesizer, drums – which cheerfully slams the tempo and brings to mind Fugazi – and tunes from wind instruments. The samples from recording sessions were thus pasted together to form this crescendo piece, marked at its center by a drop in volume and a change in tempo. Lizzie Powell will release a fifth album in a few weeks. This instrumental piece heard is a beautiful calling card!
