(Virginia Water) Francesco and Edoardo Molinari are part of a Ryder Cup team again, but this time as co-captains of the tournament hosted in Rome, Italy.

Francesco Molinari has been chosen as Luke Donald’s fifth and final co-captain when Europe attempt to reclaim the Cup from the United States from September 29 to October 1.

The Italian brothers played together in the matches Europe won at Celtic Manor in 2010. Edoardo Molinari was among Donald’s first choice as co-captain, while his brother, the British Open champion in 2018, had the ambition to be selected as a player.

The selection of Francesco Molinari as co-captain was announced on Wednesday. Donald’s other deputies are Jose Maria Olazabal, Nicolas Colsaerts and Thomas Bjorn.

United States captain Zach Johnson picked Davis Love III, Fred Couples, Steve Stricker, Jim Furyk and Stewart Cink as alternates.
