(Kingston) The Vanier Cup will be played in Saskatchewan for a second time.

U Sports announced Saturday that the Vanier Cup to be held in 2025 will be held in Regina. The 60th performance of the Canadian university football final will take place at Mosaic Stadium, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the University of Regina.

This will be only the third time in history that the Vanier Cup will be played in Western Canada.

The Laval University Rouge et Or defeated the University of Saskatchewan Huskies 13-8 in Saskatoon in 2006. Five years later, the McMaster University Marauders got the better of the Rouge et Or 41- 38 in double overtime, in Vancouver.

U Sports also announced that Quebec City would host the Vanier Cup in 2026. It will be there for a seventh time.
