With a season of 55 goals in the QMJHL in 2022-2023, Quebec forward Alexis Gendron was rewarded by the Flyers on Tuesday. He agreed to a three-year rookie contract with the Philadelphia team.

Gendron moved from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada to the Gatineau Olympiques during the last campaign. He totaled 81 points in 63 games with both teams, up sharply from his 46 points the previous season.

He added 14 goals and 19 points in 13 playoff games. Despite his contribution, the Olympiques were swept in four games by the Quebec Remparts in the semi-finals of the QMJHL playoffs.

Gendron was one of the last players selected, having gone No. 220 in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Only five players have been drafted after him.
