(Ottawa) The Ottawa Senators have signed forward Oskar Pettersson to a three-year first professional contract.

The team made the announcement in a press release on Thursday.

The 19-year-old Pettersson made his Swedish Hockey League debut in 2022-23 with Rögle BK. In 29 regular season games, he had one goal and one assist and 33 penalty minutes.

According to Senators general manager Pierre Dorion, Pettersson has quickly become one of the organization’s top prospects.

In the official statement, Dorion described Pettersson as a player capable of evolving in all situations, intelligent and with a good work ethic.

Pettersson was a third-round pick, 72nd overall, in 2022.
