(Montreal) The Quebec play Nos Histoires, premiered in July at the Off Avignon festival, won a prize after three weeks of presentations at the prestigious francophone theater event.

The “Club de la Presse Grand Avignon-Vaucluse”, made up of “press and communication professionals”, presented one of its “Coups de Cœur” awards last week.

Her play Nos Histoires, co-produced by the company Théâtre du Dream Team, from Quebec, depicts a “relationship of control” between a Quebecer living in Paris and a Frenchman.

“Our stories open a door to toxic relationships and question the roles we take, our choices,” a company statement said. To be free or a prisoner. How do you reclaim your story? A creation that reminds us that manipulation remains taboo. »

The play was created in Avignon at the Cabestan theater with Jean-Charles Chagachbanian and the author, who is also an actress, on stage. Frédérique Auger now hopes that the show will be mounted again in France and that she will also be able to “come back to present the play at home, in Quebec”.
