(New York) The NBA suspended Golden State Warriors player Draymond Green for five games Wednesday after he grabbed Rudy Gobert by the neck “in an unsportsmanlike and dangerous manner.”

Gobert and Minnesota Timberwolves teammate Jaden McDaniels, as well as Warriors player Klay Thompson, were fined $25,000.

McDaniels and Thompson were both ejected from Tuesday’s game between the two teams, as was Green.

Green’s suspension will cause him to lose $769,704 in salary.

“The length of the suspension takes into account Green’s history of unsportsmanlike actions,” reads a statement from the Silver Tour.

The sanctions were handed down by Joe Dumars, the NBA’s executive vice president and head of basketball operations – and Green’s longtime mentor.
