Montreal winger Nathan Cayo will return to the Montreal Alliance for the franchise’s second season, which begins May 26.

The Alliance made the announcement in a press release on Tuesday. Cayo is therefore the first confirmed player for the 2023 season. His return is not necessarily a surprise, considering his contribution to the team in his first professional season, in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (LECB).

Cayo played in all 20 Alliance games last season. He finished the campaign ranked first among Montreal in total points (243) and rebounds (99). He averaged 12.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 28.3 minutes of play per game in addition to making 54% of his shots.

“I look forward to reuniting with the best fans in Canada and playing in the best city in the country,” commented the principal concerned. I look forward to creating something special in my hometown with my teammates and our fans. »

Cayo is currently in Poland, where he plays with Astoria Bydgosz. He averaged 8.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in 20.7 minutes of play per game.

Alliance training camp kicks off May 18 and the season kicks off eight days later when the Niagara River Lions visit the Verdun Auditorium.
