Love, humor and small (or big) screen. Between Mélissa Theuriau and Jamel Debbouze, it is an idyll that has lasted for more than fifteen years. The one who celebrates her 45th birthday, this Tuesday, July 18, 2023, would have crossed paths with the comedian during a business trip to Spain in 2007.

“I was doing a subject for Zone Interdite”, evoked the ex-host of M6 for the Parisian Weekend in February 2022, while the actor was at the same time filming for the film Asterix at the Olympic Games. “I had been asked not to approach him, but he was watching me behind a newspaper he was holding upside down. The discussion began, I only heard intelligence”, according to remarks relayed in particular by Paris Match.

From this first approach, the journalist from the suburbs of Grenoble wanted to learn more about the Franco-Moroccan comedian who grew up in Trappes. “It was I who sought to join him … simply to continue our exchanges. At the time, we were both a couple,” she added to our colleagues. After leaving their respective spouses, they formalized their relationship with the public.

In 2008, Mélissa Theuriau and Jamel Debbouze confirmed their love by getting married at the abbey of Vaux-de-Cernay in the Yvelines. From their union, the journalist-producer and the famous actor are the happy parents of Léon, born in 2008, and Lila, born in 2011. A nice family portrait that the two stars wish to preserve away from the media.

And for good reason, the couple shares rare family photos on social networks. “I put very little. I only have Instagram: a private account on which I can talk about my private life and an audience that serves me more to communicate about my profession, my films. And from time to time, I I also enjoy sharing sweet moments, which make sense”, she mentioned in 2019 to the Gala.fr site.

“There are times when I can allow myself to post a photo that touches me. On the other hand, I never show their face. It’s a rule from which I do not derogate! But it’s without thinking. “There is no strategy. I always do it spontaneously”, she assures our colleagues.

Questioned in January 2023 in Psychologies Magazine, the wife of Jamel Debbouze poured out on his children who have now become teenagers. “We spend our time hoping that they become more autonomous. But when they start to escape us, when we are no longer needed, in fact, it shakes up,” she admits. “I have a crazy nostalgia for their early childhood! But I’m going to pass it, this course”, according to comments relayed by the tabloid Here.
