(LA) Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias has been arrested on charges of causing bodily harm to his spouse or someone he lives with, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokeswoman said. Los Angeles, Tuesday.
Urias did not travel with the Dodgers to Miami, where they began a three-game series Tuesday night. His next departure was scheduled for Thursday.

Major League Baseball has begun an investigation into the matter.
The 27-year-old Mexican was arrested in May 2019 for domestic violence. He was suspended for 20 games by Major League Baseball, but was not formally charged by Los Angeles prosecutors on the condition that he complete a 52-week domestic violence prevention program.

Urias is 11-8 with a 4.60 ERA this season. He is playing under a one-year, $14.25 million contract. He helped the Dodgers win the World Series at the end of the 2020 season, which was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.
