Comedian Kevin Hart received the Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize for Lifetime Achievement in American Humor, capping a career spanning three decades.
The 44-year-old artist got his start in the business as a teenager, performing at venues such as the Laff House in his hometown of Philadelphia under the name Lil Kev.
Hart has become one of the country’s most profitable and ubiquitous entertainers, with eleven of his films charting at number one at the box office.
Past recipients of this award include Whoopi Goldberg, Carol Burnett and Dave Chapelle.
