Marie-Annick Lépine published on Facebook Friday a touching written tribute to her spouse and leader of the Cowboys Fringants, Karl Tremblay, who died this week from cancer.
“Karl was extremely kind. He always made sure everyone around him was comfortable. A quiet strength, the pillar of a family, a group and thousands of fans. He was a happy man. He found happiness much more moving than unhappiness. Always positive and comforting, he never asked for anything. »
In this message shared Friday afternoon, Marie-Annick Lépine, multi-instrumentalist of Cowboys Fringants, attached a photo of the sky taken on the day of her partner’s death. “At the moment of his departure, the sky put on its most beautiful clothes to welcome him as it should,” she wrote.
The artist then spoke about the last months, during which Karl Tremblay’s prostate cancer forced him to ask for help, he who, “always positive and comforting”, “never asked for anything”. The rest of Marie-Annick Lépine’s message is addressed directly to her partner, whom she affectionately calls “my big guy”.
“My big guy, it was an immense joy for me to finally reverse the roles. To provide you with all the support, love and care necessary for your comfort. You called me “my private love nurse”. You didn’t like being weakened, but you remained strong, always. A great man. You will continue to live through our daughters. They inherited a lot from you. »
She finally tells an anecdote concerning their two daughters, Simone and Pauline, then assures Karl that she will take good care of them, that he does not have to worry.
Since the announcement of the death of the leader of the Cowboys Fringants, the members of the group have shared part of their immense personal mourning with their public, in particular by attending a vigil in honor of Karl Tremblay at L’Assomption on Thursday or through messages on social networks.
