(Hamilton) Scott Milanovich has become the new head coach of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

The CFL team named the 27th head coach in its history Wednesday morning.

Milanovich joined the Ticats as a senior assistant coach last season, and was given offensive play-calling responsibility in August.

The Tiger-Cats finished the campaign with an 8-10 record and were eliminated by the Montreal Alouettes in the Eastern semi-finals.

Milanovich succeeds Orlondo Steinauer as head coach. Steinauer stepped down as head coach on Tuesday to focus on his role as president of football operations for the Ontario franchise.

Milanovich, who previously served as head coach of the Toronto Argonauts and Edmonton Elks, will be formally introduced to members of the media at a press conference Wednesday afternoon.
