(Foxborough) Raheem Mostert scored two touchdowns, including one on a 43-yard run in the fourth quarter, while Tua Tagovailoa threw a two-yard touchdown pass to Tyreek Hill, and the Miami Dolphins beat the Patriots New England 24-17, Sunday night.

Mostert ran the ball 18 times for a total of 121 yards, and Tagovailoa completed 21 of 30 passes for a total of 249 yards, with one interception.

After winning their first two games of the season, on the road, the Dolphins will look to start the season 3-0 for the second year in a row under head coach Mike McDaniel. The Denver Broncos will be in Miami next weekend.

Mac Jones finished his night of work with 31 of 42 completions for 231 yards, in addition to a touchdown and an interception.

Starting cornerback Jonathan Jones did not play after being sidelined before the game with an ankle injury. The Patriots learned more bad news in the second quarter, when Marcus Jones left with shoulder soreness.

Defensively, the Dolphins took advantage of a turnover by rookie Demario Douglas in the first quarter, leading to Mostert’s first touchdown of the game. Then, up 17-3 in the third quarter, the Dolphins’ Xavien Howard caught a pass from Mac Jones, which was intended for DeVante Parker inside the five-yard line.

The Dolphins then took advantage of an 18-yard run by Jones, and a holding penalty on Howard, to complete a six-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Hunter Henry.
