A real darling of viewers, Cyril Lignac continues his fruitful collaboration with M6 with his new show L’Académie des cakes, a school entirely devoted to pastry. Built around a complete training cycle, it offers amateurs the opportunity to experiment with new techniques and improve their pastry skills.

At the end of an initial selection called the “learning phase”, 12 candidates will be chosen to meet renowned pastry chefs, whether they are Meilleurs Ouvriers de France or world champions in the discipline. A final cycle, dedicated to a real-life situation, will lead the candidates to work in the kitchens of Cyril Lignac and in prestigious palaces.

Convinced that “motivation and desire are the keys to our profession”, as he told Télé Star, Cyril Lignac wanted to create real training to provide all the necessary knowledge to these pastry enthusiasts. From trial to challenge, he set out to invent creative challenges, but also to guarantee quality education to his protégés. Nina Métayer, Pierre Hermé, Nicolas Paciello or even Philippe Conticini will thus bring their expertise to future participants.

Alongside Cyril Lignac in this show, viewers will be able to discover the faces of Ophélie Barès and Desty Brami, two pastry professionals. As reported in the M6 press release, Ophélie Barès cut her teeth in many palaces, from the Ritz to the Shangri-la, after studying culinary photography and an internship at the Meurice. In 2014, she made herself known to the general public by winning the second season of “Who will be the next great pastry chef?” on France 2. Since her victory, she has notably distinguished herself by creating her own consulting company.

For his part, Desty Brami worked in the biggest Parisian houses, in particular that of chef Christophe Michalak, at the Plaza Athénée, before obtaining the title of vice-champion of France for dessert. Now Executive Pastry Chef of the Château de Ferrières school, he manages the pastry department of three restaurants, a catering service and a pastry bakery. Like Ophélie Barès, he stands out for his creativity and his desire to share essential know-how to become a professional in the field. You will discover them from this Monday evening on M6.
