Summer is now on. Barbecues, the beach, good times with family or friends… This season is the season for holidays and travel. However, a shadow grows and threatens this summer happiness. Indeed, the Covid-19 did not take a vacation. On the contrary, it is particularly active and its spread within France is worrying.

On Tuesday June 5, the bar of 200,000 new confirmed cases was exceeded since a total of 206,554 people tested positive that day. This represents a considerable increase of 40.3% in seven days, according to the latest data from Public Health France.

The incidence rate is just as alarming. Its level is at its highest since April 2022. It stands at 1,141.1 on July 2, an increase of 55.2% compared to the last seven days.

Faced with this, the Minister of Health François Braun recalled on Tuesday July 5 before the National Assembly that wearing a mask remained strongly recommended in places with high traffic such as public transport, even if it was not obligatory.

In Nice, Mayor Christian Estrosi decided to take the lead and issued a municipal decree to make the mask again compulsory in public transport in the town.

Indeed, in this region as in many others, the evolution of the incidence rate is particularly high and Covid-19 is therefore spreading very quickly. Here are the departments where it is increasing the fastest.
