(Cincinnati) Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon was found not guilty of making threats during an argument in January.

Hamilton Municipal County Judge Gwen Bender acquitted him of the charges he faced after a four-day trial.

A woman had accused the 27-year-old of pointing a gun in her direction as the two cars were stopped side by side. Mixon’s attorney argued that it was impossible to prove that Mixon had a gun in his car.

The lady, whose name was not released in court, instead claimed that she and Mixon had a fight after he cut her off in traffic. Mixon claimed the lady started the confrontation by giving him the middle finger.

She added that Mixon pointed a gun in her direction as the cars were stopped.

Mixon’s attorney, Scott Croswell, noted that it was impossible to know who was telling the truth in a case like this.

If Mixon had been found guilty, he could have spent up to a year behind bars and been fined US$1,000.

The Bengals’ second-round pick in 2017, Mixon had his best moments in 2021, rushing for 1,205 yards and scoring 13 touchdowns.
