(Winnipeg) Brady Oliveira scored two rushing touchdowns and had 72 rushing yards to lead the Winnipeg Blue Bombers to a convincing 45-25 victory over the Edmonton Elks on Saturday.

Oliveira, a Canadian, has 1,498 rushing yards after 17 games. Jon Cornish holds the record for the most rushing yards in a season by a Canadian with 1,813. He achieved the feat in 2013 with the Calgary Stampeders.

Oliveira scored his eighth and ninth touchdowns of the season on the ground following two three-yard runs.

The Blue Bombers (13-4) were already assured of finishing first in the Canadian League West when the British Columbia Lions lost to the Stampeders on Friday night.

The Blue Bombers will complete their schedule next Friday in Calgary.

The Elks (4-14) finished their season with four straight losses and will miss the playoffs for a third straight year.
