(Nice) Favorite Carlos Alcaraz won his first match since winning his Wimbledon title, coming from behind to defeat David Goffin 4-6, 6-4, 10-8 at the Hopman Cup on Friday.

The Spaniard, who beat Serbian Novak Djokovic in five sets on Sunday, had three aces in a match in which he and Goffin were both broken on two occasions.

This tournament takes place in the south of France, with mixed teams representing their nation in singles and doubles.

Alcaraz will play doubles with Rebeka Masarova against the Belgian duo of Goffin and Elise Mertens later on Friday.

Alcaraz will be back in action on Saturday when they face Croatian Borna Coric in singles and Coric and Donna Vekic in doubles.

The final is scheduled for Sunday.
