The contingent of Quebec artists, to which are added Dubmatique, Clerel and Josiane, will offer performances alongside Jann Arden, Jojo Mason, Madison Violet, Aysanabee, Josh Q, Dax and Preston Pablo to celebrate Canada Day.

The July 1 show to be held at Parc des Plaines-LeBreton in Ottawa will be hosted by Isabelle Racicot. It will be broadcast live on ICI Radio-Canada Télé, ICI, Tou. TV, CBC Television and CBC Gem starting at 8 p.m.

The evening will conclude with a fireworks display around 10 p.m.

A ceremony will also take place from 11 a.m., it too will be televised. Hosted by Rebecca Makonnen, it will celebrate diversity and include a component on Indigenous identity and citizenship. Guest artists include Pierre Kwenders, Delhi 2 Dublin, Tyler Shaw, Josiane, Diyet, Katia Rock and Marie-Josée Dandeneau.

By June 6, the public can vote for Song of the Year. A French-speaking song and an English-speaking one. The two “winning” songs will be performed on July 1. On the French side, the choice is: Crazy, anywhere, by Daniel Bélanger; Forget me, from Cœur de Pirate or We’re going to love each other again, from Vincent Vallières. Among the Anglos: Still The One, by Shania Twain; Basement Apartment, by Sarah Harmer or Big Yellow Taxi, by Joni Mitchell.
