(Nassau) Tiger Woods did well on Thursday, in his first competition in eight months, excluding a more difficult finish.

Woods held his own at the World Hero Challenge until he made a double bogey from a bush on the par-five 15th hole. He then recorded two more bogeys.

These bogeys brought his card to three shots over par of 75, or eight shots from the lead. Woods had a better score than two of the 20 golfers in attendance at Albany.

British Open champion Brian Harman, along with Tony Finau, led the round with a card of 67, five shots under par. Jordan Spieth finished one stroke behind. Spieth only managed five pars.

However, this day was about Woods. The American expected to be rusty and it ended up showing.

“I didn’t have all my feelings,” Woods said. Conditions were difficult at the start. I didn’t finish the round the way I would have liked. »

Woods wasn’t the only player to struggle on his back nine. Woods attributed his mistakes to a lack of commitment, which was explained by lack of practice.

“Should I do this or not? [Before I decided], I had made my move, Woods said. I shouldn’t really hit the ball and make a bad shot. This is what I did, over and over again. It was a lack of commitment to what I was doing and how I was feeling. I have to do a better job. There was a lack of commitment on my part. I have to do better on this side. »
