The Riot Days show, which combines music, theater and video from Pussy Riot, will be presented at the Rialto Theater on November 1 as part of the Pop Montreal festival.

The Russian group known for its commitment and acts of protest, in particular its performance at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow in 2012, which led to the imprisonment of three of its members, offers this show presented more than 400 times since 2017.

Maria Alyokhina, aka Masha, and producer Alexander Cheparukhin are behind Riot Days, based on her book. The show is inspired by his experience in Pussy Riot. Its content evolves according to current events, which includes the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

In addition to Masha, two other members of Pussy Riot will be performing, Diana Burkot and Olga Borisova, as well as musician Alina Petrova and videographer Vasily Bogatov.

Note that the exhibition Velvet Terrorism: Pussy Riot’s Russia will be presented at the MAC Place Ville Marie, from October 25 to March 10.
