Canadian Drake has finally announced that the release date for his highly anticipated eighth studio album For All the Dogs has been set for September 22.

The sequel to Honestly, Nevermind, which launched in 2022 and was released without warning, was announced on the rapper’s Instagram account on Wednesday evening.

Drake noted the release date in the caption of his post, which featured a video of his father, Dennis Graham. A representative for the artist confirmed the information on Thursday.

Drake – who is currently on his It’s All a Blur tour – announced his intention to release a new album a few months ago, notably during a concert in New York last July where he declared, in a packed Barclays Center to bursting at the seams, that his next album would be released in about “a few weeks.”

The 36-year-old star, known for her surprise music releases, first teased the potential project during her intimate concert at the Apollo last January.

The new album includes several collaborations that Drake has mentioned on stage in recent months, including one with Nicki Minaj and another with Bad Bunny.
