Montreal goaltender Yaniv Perets signed a two-year deal with the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.

A native of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Perets won the American university championship just a few days ago with the Quinnipiac Bobcats.

The 23-year-old goaltender has won 34 of 41 games this season, while maintaining a 1.49 goals-against-average and 0,931 save percentage.

The former Lac St-Louis Lions of the Midget AAA Hockey League will leave the collegiate ranks as the most prolific goaltender in program history. Quinnipiac has two former National Hockey League (NHL) players, Devon Toews of the Colorado Avalanche and Connor Clifton of the Boston Bruins.
