(Paris) Maria Sakkari, winner of the WTA 1000 tournament in Guadalajara (Mexico) on Saturday, made the greatest progression in the world’s top 10 (3), unchanged for her first five places according to the ranking published Monday.

The 28-year-old Greek player, whose best ranking is third in the world in 2022, moved up three places to sixth place, thanks to her victory in the final against American Caroline Dolehide (7-5, 6-3).

Dolehide, for his part, made a cannonball entry into the top 100 at the age of 25, gaining 69 places at once to land in 42nd position.

No change, however, at the top of the rankings, where Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka is still ahead of Polish Iga Swiatek and the winner of the United States Open, 19-year-old American Cori Gauff.

In the top 10, the Czechs Marketa Vondrousova (8th) and Karolina Muchova (9th) lost two and one place respectively.

The French Caroline Garcia (10th), beaten in the Guadalajara semi-final by Sakkari, returns to the top 10, from which she ejects another Czech, Barbora Krejcikova, who falls to 11th position.
