Wyatt Johnston scored twice, Tyler Seguin had a goal and an assist and the Dallas Stars beat the St. Louis Blues 5-2 on Wednesday night.

The win allowed the Stars to overtake the Colorado Avalanche, inactive Wednesday, at the top of the Central Division standings with 106 points.

The Avalanche have 105 points but have two games left, compared to just one for the Stars Thursday night at home against the Blues.

Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz also found the back of the net for the Stars and Scott Wedgewood made 16 saves. The Stars finished with 25 away wins to equal the club record set in 2005-06.

Jason Robertson (109 points) had three assists for the Stars and passed Jeremy Roenick (107 points in 1992-93) and Jimmy Carson (107 in 1987-88) for the most single-season points by a US-born player States aged 23 or under.

Robert Thomas had a goal and an assist for the Blues. Jakub Vrana also scored and Joel Hofer stopped 32 shots.

Hintz and Johnston scored 48 seconds apart, taking advantage of a double minor to Samuel Blais early in the second period to make it 4-2.

Seguin, playing his 900th game, extended the Stars lead with another power play goal late in the second period.
