The month of June is marked by many weather variations. Between temperature rises and stormy showers, most French departments then suffered the consequences. Once again, a storm is scheduled for June 21, 2023, the first day of summer and the date of the music festival. Discover in our slideshow below the departments affected by these storms.

“It was hot yesterday Tuesday in the south-east, the east and in Corsica, and this will continue for this first day of calendar summer from this morning. The music festival will take place in the heat and sometimes under thunderstorms”, announces Alexandre Isgro, meteorologist for La Chaîne Météo. Indeed, in many departments, temperatures will remain very high. Conversely, some will be affected by strong gusts of wind and stormy showers.

Météo-France and La Chaîne Météo agree that storms will continue to strike in several regions of metropolitan France. Indeed, “the strong storms of last night shifted towards Burgundy and evacuated towards the Great East”, specifies the editorial staff of La Chaîne Météo. Nevertheless, these will appear at the end of the day and are likely to intensify during the evening.

In most departments, temperatures will still be between 22 and 32°C. In Corsica, the heat wave is still relevant with temperatures that can reach 40°C in this region. For other areas where thunderstorms will occur, intense gusts of wind are likely. These could even reach 100 kilometers per hour. A risk of hail is also announced. To find out which departments are affected by these strong winds, see our slideshow available below.
