(LOS ANGELES) NBA superstar LeBron James said his family was “united and healthy” on Thursday, three days after his eldest son suffered cardiac arrest while practicing with his varsity basketball team.

” Everyone is doing well. Our family is reunited and healthy, and we feel your love. We’ll have more to say when we’re ready, but I wanted to let everyone know how much your support means to all of us! James said on social media.

“I want to thank the countless people who send my family love and prayers. […] We appreciate your support and I am so grateful,” James wrote in his first post since his 18-year-old son Bronny collapsed on the hardwood floor while training with college. from Southern California on Monday in Los Angeles.

On Tuesday, the family announced that Bronny James had been treated by on-site medical staff, hospitalized and transferred to the intensive care unit in “stable” condition.

No details had filtered since, the photographers posted in front of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles having simply claimed to have seen the superstar enter the hospital establishment.

“Thanks to the quick and efficient response of the USC medical team, Bronny James was successfully treated,” the hospital center said in a statement.

Bronny James “arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fully conscious, neurologically intact and stable. Mr. James was quickly taken care of by highly trained personnel and was sent home, where he is resting,” the hospital said.

“While his treatment will continue, we hope he continues to recover and we are encouraged by his response, resilience and the support of his family and community,” the statement concluded.

According to the American Heart Association, only one in ten people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, when the heart suddenly stops with little or no warning.

James’ cardiac arrest came just over a year after fellow USC basketball player Vince Iwuchukwu suffered heart failure and collapsed during practice. Iwuchukwu then made a full recovery.

Bronny James, who has become one of America’s top high school basketball prospects, signed on to play for the University of Southern California Trojans last May.

His famous 38-year-old father, the all-time leading scorer in the NBA, four-time champion and four-time best player, has repeatedly expressed the wish to extend his career in order to play in the league with his son, who was expected at draft 2024.
