As part of its tribute series, Cirque du Soleil has chosen to celebrate the work of the humorous group Rock et Belles Oreilles. The acrobatic piece will be presented starting July 17 at the Cogeco outdoor amphitheater in Trois-Rivières.

“With this opus, we want to pay tribute to the humorous group by highlighting the iconic art and music of RBO. The group’s comedy sketches and songs have become memorable for several generations and it is precisely their unifying side that will be at the heart of the creative content of the show,” indicated the President and CEO of the Cirque du Soleil Group, Stéphane Lefebvre. .

This tribute show follows the one dedicated to Guy Lafleur last summer, which marked a break with the previous musical series (Beau Dommage, Robert Charlebois, Luc Plamondon, Les Colocs, Les Cowboys Fringants and Les divas).

RBO, which marked the 1980s and 1990s, signed two Bye byes in 2006 and 2007. The group received the Medal of Honor from the National Assembly in 2011 on the occasion of its 30th anniversary. In 2014, RBO created an event show called The Tounes, presented at Place des Festivals, followed by two performances at the Bell Center and the Videotron Center in Quebec in 2015.

“RBO is honored and moved to receive this tribute from Cirque du Soleil. The band members have been called clowns for over 40 years! Our audience was gone? Thanks to Cirque du Soleil: Abracadabru! », Wrote the members of Rock et Belles Oreilles in a press release.
