Tiger Woods will once again compete in the PNC Championship, a 36-hole tournament that has become one of his favorites because of his playing partner: his son.

Woods and his 14-year-old son Charlie will compete in the PNC Championship for a fourth straight year – the only tournament he hasn’t missed due to numerous injuries that have plagued him in recent years.

“It’s a true gift to be able to share my passion for golf with my son Charlie, and we truly look forward to the PNC Championship every year,” Woods said Wednesday. Playing together, against a group made up of several great golfers and their loved ones, is very special. »

The PNC Championship will be held December 16-17 at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando Golf Club, located in Grande Lakes.

Woods and his son finished in second place in 2021, 10 months after Woods seriously injured his right leg and ankle in a road accident in Los Angeles. They finished in seventh place in their first participation, in 2020, and tied for eighth place last year.

Woods will compete in the Hero World Challenge next week in the Bahamas for the first time since he had surgery on his right ankle in April following the Masters Tournament. Since the PNC Championship is administered by the PGA Champions Tour, Woods will be able to travel there by cart.
