To “salute the exceptional contribution to the Quebec recording and entertainment industry of their co-founder,” the 35th Francos de Montréal will be dedicated to Guy Latraverse, the organization announced Tuesday.

The death of Guy Latraverse left the entire artistic community in mourning. Among the countless achievements of the famous producer, who is considered the father of Quebec showbusiness, there is the Francos de Montréal – now the Francos – which he co-founded with Alain Simard and Jean-Louis Foulquier in 1989.

Guy Latraverse has been behind many important Francos shows over the decades, whether it was La fête à Montréal in 1992, which closed the 350th anniversary festivities, or La forêt des mal-aimes symphonique, with Pierre Lapointe and the Orchestra metropolitan in 2007.

“Associated with him for thirty exciting years, I had the chance to know his wonderful family who were his whole life, with his hard work of course! What a great pioneer-builder we are losing, but also what an endearing, humble, generous and involved man in his community,” said Alain Simard in a press release.

The 35th Francos de Montréal will take place from June 14 to 22, 2024.
