The musical theater show La Géante, inspired by the story of La Poune, will be presented in the summer of 2024.

The Open Eye Theater team (La Corriveau – La soif des corbeaux) will bring this project to life where we plan a “time travel” to meet Rose Ouellette, alias La Poune. The show will share through a story with the air of a fantastic tale the journey of the famous character, from the 1920s to the 1940s.

“Evening after evening, a tiny woman becomes La Poune, her popular character grown larger than life and takes the stage to bring some light to an all-consuming Great Darkness by bringing people together around a giggle”, announces- we in a press release. “La Géante is the story of a flower that grows in the night, it is the legacy of an impossible-to-extinguish flame that continues to light the way for generations of female artists. »

The staging of this original creation is provided by Jade Bruneau, based on an original idea, text and lyrics by Geneviève Beaudet. The music will be signed by Audrey Thériault.
