To put pineapple or not? Cut the parts with scissors or a knife? Pizza is a meal that can spark a lot of debate over lunch with friends. Another of the big questions raised by this Italian specialty is whether to eat, or leave aside, the crust of the pizza. If there is something for everyone, one thing is certain: throwing it away unfortunately contributes to food waste… So why not recycle the crust of your pizzas, rather than throwing it in the trash?

On the famous social network TikTok, a cooking lover, known as @chef_n_zem, shares quick and easy tips for eating well. “In Italy, to recycle stale bread, we make what is called a panzanella”, explains the chef, who suggests replacing bread croutons with pizza crusts in this revisited salad recipe.

It’s very simple: just cut a few tomatoes with a little red onion, then bathe it all in a homemade vinaigrette. Chef Nabil Zem offers his version of the vinaigrette, made up of three tablespoons of olive oil, a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar and finally a teaspoon of honey.

For the rest, let your imagination run wild: “You can add thyme, oregano, or basil”, underlines the tiktokeur. Finally, toast your pizza crusts in a pan with a drizzle of olive oil and add everything to your preparation: it’s ready!
