American actress Shannen Doherty, star of the 1990s series Beverly Hills 90210, has metastatic breast cancer that has spread to her bones, but she says the best thing she thinks is is yet to come.

“I’m not done with life. I’m not done with love. I’m not done with creation. “I’m still hoping to change things for the better,” she told People magazine. I’m just… not done. »

Shannen Doherty, 52, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She underwent a mastectomy and chemotherapy and radiation treatments. In 2017, she revealed on Instagram that she was in remission, but cancer caught up with her in 2019, this time in stage 4. She had a brain tumor removed this spring, “one of the scariest things » that she experienced.

“We ask ourselves: why me? Why did I get cancer? Why did my cancer come back? Why am I in stage 4? And all this leads you to seek the deepest meaning of life. »

The cancer has now spread to her bones, but she is currently on a “very good” treatment plan, which is working well. She hopes that one day she will be able to take part in a clinical trial for a new therapy. And for her, her most beautiful memories are still ahead of her.

“People think that means you can’t walk anymore, you can’t eat anymore, you can’t work anymore. Even if you’re still young, they put you out to pasture: you’re finished, you’re retired, but we’re not. We are dynamic and we have such a different outlook on life. We are people who want to work, enjoy life and keep moving forward. »

Shannen Doherty will chronicle her life and illness in a podcast called Let’s Be Clear With Shannen Doherty, available starting December 6 on iHearthRadio.
