Yet considered the favorite fruit of the French, the strawberry is neglected according to the press release written on March 22, 2023 by Emeline Vanespen, director of the Association. She specifies that “some brands have not even referenced them on their shelves yet, or else dedicate a very small place to them on the stalls”.

In addition, some retail giants “have realized that we could not let the French sector completely fall”.

With inflation, the managers of large retailers seem to want to offer the French food at a lower cost. Indeed, according to INSEE figures, consumer prices increase by 5.7% between March 2022 and March 2023. Alongside this figure is added that of producer prices in 2022. On a year, INSEE notes a slowdown in these prices with 3% less in November compared to October.
