(Seattle) Still bothered by a sore left foot, center fielder Julio Rodriguez was ruled out of the Seattle Mariners roster for the second straight day on Wednesday.

Mariners manager Scott Servais said Rodriguez was doing better, but was still experiencing discomfort in his left foot.

Rodriguez’s name was belatedly removed from the Mariners batting order on Tuesday night, just before the start of the game against the Oakland Athletics.

After that encounter, Servais clarified that a pinched nerve in Rodriguez’s foot was the source of the discomfort.

In August, Rodriguez had the best month of his career. In 23 games, he posted a .429 batting average, with seven homers, 10 doubles and 30 RBIs.
